New faces at the police: Neustadt and Huchting in focus!

In the south of Bremen, three new police officers have started their service to the Neustadt and Huchting territory. Ricarda Marschall is the new contact policist for the Garden City South and returned after her parental leave to fill out the position as a contact policy since the beginning of the year. Marschall, 40 years old, had previously worked in patrol service since 2009 and would like to be available to the citizens and work preventively in schools and daycare centers. The desire to become a contact policy was created after a formative emergency.

Imke Freund took over the position of the new district manager in the Neustadt and follows Andreas Peper. She has been with the Bremen police since 2000 and has worked both in the riot police and patrol service. Freund has already brought experience from management positions in the 110 process and in the training center and plans to focus more on prevention and to improve the security situation around the container for the drug and homeless scene at Hohentorspark. Daniel Kühnemund, the new district manager in Huchting, is 42 years old and has also been with the Bremen police since 2001. He has experience as a contact policeman in Grohn and wants to consolidate the relationship with the citizens in Huchting.

Personnel changes and challenges

Currently there are a total of three blocked areas for contact police officers in the districts of Oberwandand, Neustadt and Woltmershausen. These positions are only filled when the target number of 3100 police forces in Bremen has been reached. Alexander Sartoris, head of the South Police Commissioner, confirmed that other places will be filled in the course of the year, provided that suitable applicants are available.

The Police Commissioner Presidium includes a wide area that includes the Bürgerpark in the western and Borgfeld in the north. Around 117,000 people live in this area. The Commissioner offers various services, including the central advertising and contact service, and is available around the clock for emergency calls.
