Bremerhaven inspires: hidden object picture for children and community revealed!

There will soon be a new, colorful highlight in Bremerhaven: a large hidden object picture will enrich the city and focus on the Kaiser and Überseehafen as well as the famous Lloyd Werft. This artistic masterpiece is planned and implemented by the artists Malte Knaack and Marco Barrios on behalf of the Wimmelwerk from Nottensdorf. As the NORDSEE NEWSPAPER reports, the project was financially supported by many local companies and the “Fishing Harbor Business Club” to create a significant cityscape.

However, the hidden object picture is more than just a work of art; it is a true community project that brings people, companies and places together. The sale of hidden object products will not only promote the artistic project, but also benefit the “Make Children Strong” initiative, which aims to open up new perspectives for disadvantaged children and young people. Part of the proceeds flow directly into projects for young people in Bremerhaven, as the Wimmelwerk website explains: also a sign of social responsibility.

A special event is coming

The official unveiling of the hidden object picture will take place on August 13, 2025 during SAiL in Bremerhaven. This event not only promises exciting insights, but is also intended to send a strong signal for community cohesion and the city's future opportunities. In the coming weeks there will already be first glimpses of this artistic highlight.

But what makes the hidden object picture so special? The detailed design will not only reflect the beauty of the city, but also help to promote lively and committed participation in the culture by all citizens. Art in public spaces has established itself as an important space for dialogue in recent decades. This can be seen, among other things, in work that has been carried out in Bremerhaven since the 1960s in the context of cultural education Kubi describes. Here art becomes an active engagement with social issues and promotes access to cultural experiences for everyone.

The new hidden object picture not only moves hearts, but also creates space for encounters and shared experiences. It connects people and highlights regional identity. Bremerhaven shows that art is a powerful means of promoting social cohesion and shaping a positive future.
