Germany supports Ukraine: three-digit number of rocket deliveries!

Germany has decided to support Ukraine in its fight against Russia with long-range missiles in high three-digit numbers. This announcement came from Major General Christian Freuding, head of the Special Staff Ukraine in the Federal Ministry of Defense, yesterday on the ZDF today journal. The military situation in Ukraine is tense, especially in the major cities, where the air situation has become increasingly precarious in recent weeks. Freuding made it clear that the new weapon systems are designed to penetrate deep into Russian space to attack strategic targets such as command facilities and airfields.

It is important to mention that the first deliveries of the wide-ranging systems are already planned for the end of July. The financing agreement was reached between the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and industry and is supported by Germany. Freuding is currently in Kiev overseeing the signing of this agreement between the Ukrainian partners and industry. In this regard, Germany will continue to consider the possibility of supplying Patriot systems to Ukraine, although these would have to be procured by the USA. In addition, it is emphasized that Germany is working closely with its partners to provide new medium and long-range air defense systems.

Aid to Ukraine in the context of international support

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also announced that military support talks are planned next week with US special envoy Keith Kellogg, who will arrive in Kiev on Monday. This meeting takes place as part of the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference and could provide new impetus for military support to Ukraine. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman confirmed Kellogg's visit; However, details about the exact topics of discussion are not yet known.

But it's not just Ukraine that needs support. The EU Commission recently presented a new proposal for a flexible price cap for Russian oil, which is aimed at making it more difficult for Russia to finance the war in Ukraine. This price cap should be adjusted every three months. This reflects efforts by the EU and Great Britain to pressure the G7 countries to lower the previous price cap of $60 per barrel.

Germany's role in the supply of weapons

It is very important for Ukraine to receive weapons systems that match its existing arsenal. The Ukrainian army predominantly relies on Soviet or Russian-made weapon systems, which enable it to be ready for use quickly without additional training time. In this context, Germany offers to help in the event of a ring exchange and to close the resulting gaps with deliveries from German production. This could give the Ukrainian armed forces decisive advantages and contribute to stability throughout the region.

Overall, the current situation shows that military support to Ukraine is not only based on bilateral agreements, but is a piece of a broader international strategic puzzle that is of utmost importance for Ukraine during these difficult times.
