Paraglides crash in a hiking group: injured under shock!

On the Easter weekend, there was a serious paraglider accident in the Allgäu Alps, which sometimes seriously injured several people. The incident occurred on Holy Saturday in the Breitenberg in the Ostallgäu district. A 32-year-old paraglider fell into a group of hikers during an emergency landing and injured several people.

according to Infranken reported that he had to struggle with an abrasion demolition during the flight. As a result of the string -like dive, he no longer had control over the paraglider and finally had to start the emergency landing. In the collision with the hiking group, a seven -year -old girl and his dog suffered minor injuries.

injured people and rescue actions

The paraglider itself suffered heavier injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital with a helicopter. The mountain rescue service took care of the injured and also brought the two slightly injured hikers, a 63-year-old woman and the girl to the hospital. Officials from the Füssen police inspection and the alpine operations group of the police were also on site to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident, such as Br.de

In addition, two further accidents with paragliders in the region occurred on the same day. A 61-year-old crashed in the Daufat area and had to trigger his rescue umbrella due to a flight error. He landed in a tree top unharmed and was recovered by the mountain rescue service. A third incident occurred on the Brauneck, where a 28-year-old paraglider plunged at the start due to twisted linen and a shoulder injury. He was also flown to the hospital with a rescue helicopter.

Security in paragliding

The accidents in the Allgäu Alps once again raise questions about safety in paragliding. Between 2018 and 2022, the German Hängelverband (DHV) published an evaluation of paraglider accidents, which shows that flight errors and unhappy weather conditions can often lead to serious incidents. Evaluation illuminates the need for more intensive training and better safety standards for paragliders. Further information on accident research can be found in the publication of the DHV at DHV .
