Police Hamburg: More than 17,000 violations of large controls discovered!

In a comprehensive security campaign, the Hamburg police checked more than 3,800 people and over 10,000 vehicles in March 2025. In this way, serious violations were found in over 1,000 missions: 13 drivers were under the influence of alcohol, 23 under the influence of drugs. A total of 54 people drove without a license, while 166 further crimes were registered. Almost 18,000 violations were counted in dormant traffic, including 5,718 speeding and numerous technical defects.

Bicycle and e-scooter users were not without offense: Among other things, 186 red light violations and 24 traffic violations were found. For checks of e-scooters, civil servants had to pull 21 people out of circulation on sidewalks and several drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In the coming time, the police focus on the subjects of "alcohol and drugs" and "speed" to increase security on Hamburg's roads.
