SV Annerod sweeps Gießen off the pitch 6-1 – drama with sending off!

In the Giessen district league A, SV Annerod set an impressive example on August 10, 2025. With a clear 6-1 win against Freie TSG Gießen, the Anneröder show that they are in the mood to score and want to continue the upward trend of the last few weeks. This is reported by the Giessen General.

After an early deficit thanks to Tomasz Boguszewski's goal in the 13th minute, Annerod pushed for an equalizer. Gabriel Kourie achieved this in the 23rd minute. Shortly before half-time, Maurizio Berti even put his team in the lead (45th). In the second half, the Anneröders continued to pull away: Merlin Gärtner (55th), Lukas Smajek (67th), Maurizio Berti (79th) and Marc Schmidt (90th) increased the score to 6:1. To make matters worse, Freie TSG received two dismissals in the second 45 minutes (56th, 85th) and failed to stabilize the game after the early penalty whistle.

As part of the match day there were also other exciting encounters in the district league A Giessen. TSV Großen-Linden and MTV 1846 Gießen II tied 1-1. Max Dörfler gave TSV the lead with a goal in the 33rd minute, before David Krüger equalized for MTV in the 50th minute. A red card for Ottenheim (89th) provided additional talking points. Elsewhere, a whopping 11 goals were scored in the game between Kurdish FC Gießen and SG ASV Gießen/Sachsenhausen: Kurdish FC won after a thrilling 7:4.

The league remains exciting, and with SV Annerod's strong performance on the last matchday, the competition for the top places seems to be really getting going. The Anneröder now have the necessary self-confidence to continue to prove themselves in the coming games.
