Things get beastly in Giessen! On Sunday, August 31, 2025, the Gießen animal shelter invites you to the big summer festival from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event takes place at Vixröder Straße 16 and offers a varied program for the whole family. No matter whether you have small children, friends or loyal dog owners – there is something for everyone here.
The big raffle and the flea market for people and animals are particularly popular, where you are sure to find one or two bargains. The information and sales stands also promise interesting insights and offers. Thirst quenchers can be found at the dogtail bar, which will offer fresh drinks. A highlight for all animal lovers is the “Mistress Wanted” campaign, in which the animal residents of the animal shelter are introduced. Creative minds can also get a tattoo from Libellule Ink Atelier, while the Latin Dance Show keeps things moving.

The bicycle rally attracts adventurous participants and promises a lot of fun and action. Written by the organizers, who put a lot of passion behind this festival, there will be meaningful activity for every age group. The focus is on the joy of being together and sharing the love of animals.

Summer festival in Easter Munich as a source of inspiration
Just recently, another summer festival took place at the Ostermünchen animal shelter on July 19, 2025. A variety of activities were offered there from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., including a dog show and a book flea market.
