Customs examination in hairdressing salons: Thirteen cases discovered illegal employment!
In a large-scale operation, the main customs office Gießen mobilized a total of 95 customs officers in North, East and Middle Hesse last week to check hairdressing salons, barbershops and cosmetic studios. In 82 companies, 206 employees were interviewed about their employment relationships. The first indications of serious violations such as the non-payment of the minimum wage came to light, which could lead to a more detailed review of the business documents.
Particularly frightening: In thirteen cases, people were discovered without the necessary work and residence papers. Criminal proceedings against these employees have already been initiated. In Wetzlar, for example, three Vietnamese and an Argentine were caught in a nail salon and a hairdressing salon, while in the Kassel area, six other Vietnamese work in a nail salon without the necessary documents. The responsible immigration authorities will decide on the further stay of those affected, while the investigation against employers continues.
