On September 15, 2025, there was an exciting duel in the Kassel group league between TSV Holzhausen and TSG Sandershausen, the favorite leader and relegated from the association league. Despite a decent performance from Holzhausen, the promoted team ultimately suffered a 2-0 defeat.
The TSV Holzhausen defense held strong until the 84th minute, hardly allowing any chances and being well organized. This led to a goalless draw until an unfortunate own goal from player-coach Marcel Eichler, who hit his own net in the 84th minute, decided the game HNA. The guests were able to build on this and Niklas Kudzma made it 0-2 with another goal in the 89th minute.
An attentive goalkeeper and shaky defense
Despite the defeat, the match was not completely lost for Holzhausen. Goalkeeper David Matokovic made some strong saves and kept the team in the game until the own goal. Previously, the team was also lucky with two almost own goals, which were provoked by the Sandershausen attackers. Overall, the game was dominated by Sandershausen, while Holzhausen tried to set a tone with occasional relief attacks. The spectators, around 195 in number, were treated to an intense duel led by referee Max Wilke from Eimelrod.
The results so far in the current season show that TSV Holzhausen is still having difficulties finding its way in the new league. Before the game against Sandershausen, the team had already suffered several defeats: Among other things, they lost against Grebenstein with 3:5 and against Rengershausen with 0:4. Outlook and next games
TSV Holzhausen now wants to use the next matches to free themselves from the bottom of the table. The game against Wilhelmshöhe is scheduled for September 21st, followed by a game against FSC Lohfelden on September 28th. The coming games could be crucial to boost confidence and perhaps get their first win of the season.
