Bruchköbel votes: Sylvia Braun remains mayor – Vornwald congratulates!

In the mayoral election in Bruchköbel, which took place on October 26, 2025, there was a clear result: Sylvia Braun from the FDP was re-elected mayor. Her competitor Nils Vornwald, who ran for the AfD, congratulated her and wished her a lot of strength and perseverance for the next six years. Vornwald also thanked the citizens for their trust and support. In his statement, he emphasized people's great interest in honest and transparent politics and promised to continue to advocate for referendums and open discussions if these were not guaranteed. He described the election campaign period as intensive, instructive and characterized by many personal encounters, which enriched him personally. Vorsprung reports that ...

Nils Vornwald, 49 years old and native of Hanau, has lived in Bruchköbel for almost 16 years. He completed training as a retail salesman and works as a trainer. In 2023 he joined the AfD, where he is now active as a state delegate, deputy spokesman for the West local group and treasurer of the Main-Kinzig district association. His motivation for running for office comes from his love for Bruchköbel and the desire to improve communication between town hall and citizens. His core concerns included the introduction of fixed processing deadlines and clear responsibilities as well as the prioritization of budget expenditure for daycare centers, fire departments, roads and clubs. The choice and its meaning

Local elections are of considerable importance in Germany because they give citizens the opportunity to elect their representatives at the local level. According to Article 28 of the Basic Law, these elections are general, direct, free, equal and secret. In local elections, such as those that took place in Bruchköbel, citizens have the chance to elect mayors and local committees, which often brings local issues to the fore. Voters often support smaller parties or citizens' initiatives, an expression of direct interest in local issues. The Federal Agency for Civic Education explains that...

Voter turnout is often lower in local elections than in state or federal elections. This shows how important it is to actively involve citizens in decision-making processes in order to make local politics more lively. Vornwald's agenda therefore starts with the topics of solid finances, citizen participation and strengthening the city center. He strives for open and honest communication in which citizens are not just listeners, but active participants.

After the election, a new phase begins for Vornwald in which he would like to focus on improving the internal processes in the town hall. Discussions with city hall employees about the introduction of fixed citizens' dialogue dates are already on his program. Vornwald plans to continue to act as a bridge between politics and citizens and always promote direct dialogue. “A breath of fresh air with a down-to-earth attitude” – that is his election slogan, which will continue to be in focus after the election. It will be exciting to see how these fresh ideas are implemented in Bruchköbel!
