Universität Ulm, 89069 Ulm, Deutschland - The University of Ulm invites you to an exciting on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This event, which will take place in any weather, is aimed at families, students and science enthusiasts and offers free admission.

The university opens its doors for a variety of activities. A total of around 90 interactive hands -on activities, experiments, guided tours and lectures are offered. The focus of the event is on the quantum sciences, which are celebrated in the course of the quantumnight to initiate the Quantum year 2025

Various offers for young and old

Visitors can look forward to a program that will range from physics attempts for children from the age of six to more complex topics such as quantum computing. A children's program includes the lecture "From Schrödinger's cat to quantum technologies" and the opportunity to create or sew wounds in the training hospital. Registration is required for these activities.

In the area of ​​engineering, the “Lego Mindstorms Mars Mission” project is offered for children from the age of ten. The botanical garden will also be part of the event and invites you to a "selfie treasure search" and a "chemescape room" to the lemon battery.

The event also includes exciting insights into topics such as modeling, aerodynamics and control systems, ideal for young scientists. A competition challenges the participants to answer questions about quantum technology research as well as battery and hydrogen research.

The Max Planck Institutes, which also participate in the celebrations for Quantum 2025 will address interested visitors with lectures, film demonstrations and workshops for all age groups. The quantum mechanics as a basic discipline for modern technologies will be the central topic.

With these offers, the University of Ulm intends to promote interest in science and technology and to inspire young people in particular for the fascinating possibilities of quantum sciences. Meals are provided by the Ulm Studierendenwerk, whereby only cashless payment is accepted.
