Schottenring Historic Grand Prix: 35 years of motorsport highlight in Schotten!
A very special event will be celebrated in Schotten next weekend: The MSC Rund um Schotten invites you to the 35th Schottenring Historic Grand-Prix. On the hot summer days, there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes, as the route structure includes parts of the federal highways 455 and 276 as well as the Seestrasse. As fnp.de reports, the entire route is prepared within a week with great attention to detail.
Since its premiere in 1989, the event has established itself as an annual highlight. This success is also thanks to the around 250 volunteers who are fully committed to ensuring everything runs smoothly. Many of them are members of the Schotten fire brigades, who not only provide active support with route construction, but also with ticket booths, parking services and fire protection services. The helpers can count on a funding contribution for their club coffers, which is an additional plus.
Preparations in full swing
The preparations for the big event include numerous logistical measures. Around 30 helpers pitch in every day, and many even take vacation to ensure that everything is finished on time. The focus is on building a pedestrian bridge and mobile protective walls. To ensure the safety of the participants, around 5,000 bales of straw will be distributed at critical points on the course, while 320 construction fences and 200 grilles will be set up to cordon off and direct visitors. In addition, 58 toilet houses, six large toilets and a shower container are provided - nothing should be missing!
The first starting shot will be fired on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. The catering for the visitors is organized by the MSC youth group and the VfR Rudingshain. In order to make the atmosphere an unforgettable experience, the driver presentation will take place on Friday evening from 6.30 p.m. in front of the clubhouse. The admission prices are also fair: for residents of Schotten's core town, a day ticket costs just 12 euros, while children and young people between the ages of 6 and 17 have free entry. Residents of certain streets can even follow the action without paying an entrance fee.
A 64-page program booklet, which is included in the admission price, informs visitors about all the details of the event. The enthusiasm and commitment of the helpers show how important the Schottenring Grand Prix is for the community. It will be exciting to finally hear the engines roaring again and see the impressive vehicles in action! The focus here is on the family atmosphere and the passionate participants who come together for the event.
