Karlsruhe celebrates The Festival” with top stars and free programs for 40 years!
The Karlsruhe Open-Air Festival “The Festival” will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025 and is the largest family festival in southern Germany. From July 24th to 27th, 2025, the Günther Klotz facility in Karlsruhe becomes the scene of an extensive program, which is to attract more than 250,000 visitors. Around 90,000 tickets have already been sold, which underlines the great popularity of the event. Ticket sales began in November 2024, long before the first artists were announced. [ZVW]
on April 10, 2025, the official kick-off for the festival, Max Giesinger will appear in front of around 1,000 invited guests in the BGV-Lichthof. The main stage line-up for the anniversary edition is unveiled. The planned artists include Zoe Wees with their hit “Control”, Grossstadt whisper, Siffie, Clueso and the British singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald. This indicates a promising line-up that covers numerous musical genres.
versatile program
A special highlight will be the classic morning under the new name “Mount Classic”, which will take place on the last day of the festival. This part of the program attracts up to 20,000 visitors every year and presents the classic orchestra festival, the Kammerakademie Nordbaden and the Karlsruhe Bach choir. The Kit Big Band will also demonstrate its skills in the jazz slot on Sunday evening.
On the festival days, several appearances from groups such as Bruckner, Dakhabrakha, Ok.Danke.Schüss as well as cooking force by KMA and Beauty & The Beats will also be experienced. For the visitors, around 70 % of the program will be accessible free of charge, including music, theater and sport, which makes “the festival” an ideal goal for families. [ZVW]
tickets and prices
For those who want to take part in the special events, the event organization has set transparent ticket prices. Day tickets cost 22.70 euros and a festival ticket for all four days is available for 85 euros. Visitors with a Karlsruhe passport can take part in the daily program for only 5 euros.
