In the night of April 26, 2025, around 11 p.m., the police and fire brigade in Barth had to react to an alarming fire - a carport and two vehicles were on fire! When the emergency services arrived, one of the cars had already caught fire. Thanks to the courageous intervention by the Barth volunteer fire brigade, an even greater damage was prevented: only the other vehicle and the carport were preserved, but the total damage is estimated at around 30,000 euros.
Fortunately, people were not harmed, but the investigation into the cause of the fire is already underway. Since arson cannot be excluded, the Stralsund criminal service has taken over the investigations. In consultation with the public prosecutor, a fire investigator is called in for analysis on site.
