The municipality of Bergen in the Vogtland faces the exciting challenge to modernize its fire service equipment house. The cultivation of a sanitary wing is scheduled to begin this year and includes changing areas, training rooms and a room for the youth fire brigade. The promotion of such projects is based on the fire department funding guideline, which was issued for the first time on March 7, 2012 and was recently updated on July 4, 2024. This guideline regulates the granting of donations to support the fire service in the Free State of Saxony. The funding is intended for the procurement and structural measures in fire protection, as well as for the promotion of children's and youth fire brigades.

The grant recipients are municipalities, special -purpose associations and counties that must prove that the measures are necessary and economical. Firefighters, vehicles and equipment can be funded, among other things, while maintenance measures or property costs are not eligible.

The Free State of Saxony shows a strong commitment to modernizing its fire brigade infrastructure. The aim of these funding is to maintain and expand the high technical quality standard in fire and disaster protection.
