On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, there was a dramatic traffic accident on Autobahn 1 near Bakum, which caused three people slightly injured and high in property. At 12:15 p.m., a 30-year-old woman from Vechta wanted to switch on her left lane with her small car when she was hit by a 36-year-old Osnabrücker in his VW. Despite a full braking, the driver could not prevent the collapse.

After the impact, the VW also crashed into the average protective planks of the highway. The police are on site and examines the course of the accident. The injured were treated immediately. Since then, the route has been impaired by the use of the rescue workers, which leads to traffic disruptions.
