Large control in Salzhemmendorf: Many defects in vans discovered!
On Saturday, April 12, 2025, a large-scale vehicle control took place in Lauenstein and Oldendorf, in which the district of Hameln-Pyrmont, the stains Salzhemmendorf and the Bad Münder police were involved. The focus was on vans that were loaded with waste metal. When checking a total of 39 vehicles, alarming defects were found: 20 vehicles had significant problems, including oil losses, broken fenders and defective seat belts.
There were particularly conspicuous drops of waste that were found in Oldendorf. The responsible persons of the defect vehicles were asked to fix the errors within a specified time frame. In addition, the building yard ensured that oil that had reached the road through the vehicles was scattered. The police also punished parking violations during this comprehensive control campaign, in which, in addition to the local authorities, DEKRA and other institutions also took part. The controllers were cooperative overall and supported the officers in unloading the metal scrap.
