Traffic collapse threatens: Hochdorf defends itself against B30 forwarding!
Hochdorf, Deutschland - The planned renovation of the B30 bridges near Hochdorf, which will be due from 2028, ensures massive criticism and concern. Kai Hasselbach from the B30 Initiative expresses his frustration on the decision of the Ministry of Transport to carry out both a full closure of the route for 18 to 21 months and to have traffic redirected through the surrounding villages. Citizens would have liked a solution without diversion, possibly in the form of a parallel building of the bridges, to minimize the traffic load, such as Schwäbische.de
The detour of the traffic from the south via Hochdorf, Schweinhausen and Appendorf as well as from the north via Appendorf, Degernau and Ingoldingen are expected to be a significant additional burden for the residents. Hochdorf is confronted with around 5300 additional vehicles per day, while Ingoldingen has to expect around 5,600 vehicles. The municipalities of Ummendorf and Reute are also loaded with 3400 additional vehicles. This situation is worrying because forecasts for the construction period of up to 2000 motor vehicles in the morning tip hour and 1700 in the evening leader.
traffic forecasts and challenges
The B30 initiative sees the traffic quality at the Appendorf hub critically, since it is classified as "sufficient" (category D) during the evening at the evening, but already in the morning leadership as "poor" (category E). During the construction period, fears that the performance limit will be exceeded and category F will be reached. This could result in a traffic collapse. The initiative demands that the necessary areas for trace extensions are all owned by the country, which is not always the case. Mayor Stefan Jäckle confirms that an important route is owned by the community, which could further endanger the diversion variant, as also from stahl-online.de explains.
The B30 initiative draws parallels to a similar project in Bad Waldsee and criticizes the unequal treatment of the citizens. In view of the additional burden for the municipalities, the initiative calls for support and solutions that take into account the requirements of traffic and the needs of the residents.
