3,000 participants march for the memory: Memorial March 2025!

Sandbostel, Deutschland - Dramatic scenes on the memorial march from the Bunker Valentin thinking location to the Sandbostel Memorial! Around 3,000 participants - including the Lower Saxony Minister of the Interior Daniela Behrens and contemporary witness Johann Dücker - commemorated the cruel death marches of forced laborers in the Second World War. Under the motto "Steps to Remember", they reminded of the inhuman conditions that thousands of people suffered when the SS dissolved the concentration camps.

The four days full of memories culminated in a moving final event, in which up to 345 participants ran to the memorial on the last section. There, the woodwind ensemble of the Lower Saxony police orchestra and important political voices warned not to forget the teachings from history. Dr. Dirk Götting emphasized the importance of police protection for democracy today. Unforgettable moments, such as the moving stories from his experiences as a child, created an urgent memory of the tangible past.
