Celebrated ten years of successful refugee aid in Bruchhausen-Vilsen!
Bruchhausen-Vilsen, Deutschland - On March 6, 2015, the successful cooperation between the Samtgemeinde Bruchhausen-Vilsen and the Life Trails Association began. On the occasion of the ten -year anniversary, the contractual partners met in the wedding room of the town hall to look back on a collaboration that is considered a prime example of committed and sustainable refugee aid. Cattrin Siemers, representative of the mayor, praised the trusting and constant cooperation, which contributed significantly to the integration of those seeking protection.
The association has coordinated refugee aid in the velvet community since the contract was signed and has looked after around 1,000 people seeking protection during this period without counting the refugees from Ukraine. This support includes numerous measures such as language courses, homework help, training support, a bicycle workshop and learning camps. The association received several awards for its commitment, including the title "Citizens of the Year".
important points of cooperation
The integration of refugee people into society is the focus of the association's work. Axel Hillmann, a representative of the association, emphasized the importance of sustainable structures and close cooperation with the administration. Regular meetings and close coordination between the association and the administration support these efforts. Imke Dirks, the then integration officer, emphasized the low -threshold offers of the association, which facilitate access to support.
currently Sarah Wiechmann, the integration officer, reports on positive experiences of former asylum seekers. Every year, two to three new volunteers who provide important support are added. These volunteers are involved in various areas such as German lessons and leisure activities and are essential for social refugee and migration aid.
Integration and social commitment
political crisis situations and conflicts worldwide lead to an increase in escape movements. According to the UN refugee aid, almost 51.2 million people are currently fleeing, with 86 percent of refugees living in developing countries. Access to support in Germany is often difficult by precarious accommodation situations in collecting bearings or sports halls.
A quarter of asylum applicants in Germany are traumatized people who fight with the consequences of flight, detention and homelessness. Particularly unaccompanied minor refugees are in need of protection and require special help so that they can master the challenges of the asylum procedure and how to deal with authorities. Commitment to refugee aid remains essential for coping with these challenges, and helpfulness in civil society is stable.
The example from Bruchhausen-Vilsen shows that well-supported newcomers not only use advantages for themselves, but can also bring positive social and economic changes to their rectification. The voice of the population is crucial for the integration process, and fears and worries must be taken seriously in order to promote harmonious coexistence.
Everyone involved agreed that the valuable cooperation between the Samtgemeinde Bruchhausen-Vilsen and the association will continue to accompany life paths in the future to offer refugees a new home and to help them integrate into society.
