Action day against pickpocketing: Enlightenment in Unna and the surrounding area!

Unna, Deutschland - On May 14, 2025, a spectacular day of action against pickpockets took place in the cities of Unna, Schwerte, Fröndenberg and Holzwickede! In view of the alarming increase in mass crime and low educational rates, the State Criminal Police Office of North Rhine-Westphalia has developed a comprehensive concept to combat this crime. Police officially clarified citizens, especially older people, about risks and protection opportunities. At information stands there were valuable tips on typical perpetrator strategies that flourish in overcrowded public transport, pedestrian zones and at major events.

As part of the mission, two people were arrested who had been guilty of falsification of documents and thefts. Particularly explosive: A arrest was caught in the act as a suspect when trying to steal fiber optic cables worth several thousand euros! Such measures are urgently needed to protect the citizens from unscrupulous thieves!
