Police Hannover proceeds against racers: dozens of controls to Car-Friday!

The Hanover police in intensive control during the so-called “Car-Friday” on April 18, 2025 and in an action week for speed monitoring, numerous traffic offenders pulled out of circulation. The aim of these measures was to fight despite a general decline in the number of accidents, in particular speeders and violations of driving bans. A total of 98 road users were checked, including a driver who raced at 74 km/h through a speed 30 zone.

In addition, the police found three expired operating permits and punished structural changes to vehicles that violated regulations. In 19 cases, danger speeches were carried out and three drivers had to end their trip. At the same time, the officers also checked the turning behavior of truck in order to increase the safety of cyclists and to avoid dangerous turning situations. These measures show the determination of the police to combat traffic violations and make the streets safer.
