New sawmill in Affinghausen: Tradition meets innovation!

Affinghausen, Deutschland - Steffen Kohröde, an experienced carpenter from Affinghausen, has opened a new sawmill in his hometown. The official opening will take place on Saturday, May 17th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kohröde has converted a former riding stable to continue the tradition of wood cutting. The company has been in the redesign phase for several months and on the opening day is a varied action program for children, as well as meals for visitors.

Special attention is on the impressive saw that Kohröde brought from Neubruchhausen. These approximately seven tons of machine can cut tree trunks of up to 14 meters in length and currently uses seven variably adjustable saw blades. The area for sharpening the saw blades is also available, but the saw is not put into operation at the time of the opening.

product range and material selection

The sawmill in Affinghausen has a wide range of products on offer. This includes garden woods, privacy fences, garden fences, oak and tree piles as well as bonanzwheels. These special boards are known for their bark on the long sides and are often used when building fences. The types of wood include oak, spruce, pine, larch and Douglasia.

The quality of the products offered ensures that the wooden cover comes from 90% from domestic forests, similar to other renowned sawmills that rely on sustainability. Specifically, this means that no more wood may be beaten than can grow back. For a specific selection, Kohröde also offers the opportunity to watch the boards on site and discuss individual products.

sustainability and additional offers

The company premises are video monitored and secured, which offers additional security for customers and employees. The wood deliveries are made by forester from private inventory, since cooperation with the state forest is not possible. At the new location, a separate parking lot for visitors will be shown to ensure a comfortable journey.

Payment modalities are flexibly designed, but only cash payment is possible. The prices for some products, such as the Bonanzwatters from larch, also vary depending on the length and quality and are available on site. For example, the prices for the rind and bonanzwabels are around 12 to 26 euros each, depending on the desired size.

With his new sawmill in Affinghausen, Steffen Kohröde not only offers a continuation of traditional craftsmanship, but also a lot of versatile products that are tailored to the individual wishes of its customers.
