Little explorers: New planetarium workshop for daycare centers in Wolfsburg!
In the heart of Wolfsburg, a new gateway to space is opening for the little ones: The Wolfsburg Planetarium is now offering an exciting workshop for preschool children. Under the title “Expedition in the solar system – searching for clues with Blue-Bots”, the little explorers can learn how to explore the fascinating celestial bodies of our solar system.
What is special about this offer? The workshop is specially designed for children aged five and over and lasts around two hours. In the impressive dome of Lower Saxony's largest planetarium, children immerse themselves in the secrets of the moon, Mars and other planets. With the help of robotic vehicles, the so-called Blue Bots, they can explore the surfaces of celestial bodies and not only learn how to control the vehicles, but also how to create simple programs. This innovative concept was developed by Brenda Frey, a dedicated educational and scientific employee at the planetarium.
Ideal support for educational work
The purchase of a total of twelve Blue Bots was made possible through the financial support of armchair sponsors, who use them to specifically promote educational work and new didactic projects. These chair sponsorships are essential to continually expand and improve the planetarium's offerings. The number of participants is between 12 and 24 children per group, so that individual care is guaranteed.
For Wolfsburg daycare centers the price is just 10 euros per child. Up to three accompanying persons can take part free of charge, and each additional accompanying person costs 9 euros. For daycare centers outside Wolfsburg the price is 15 euros per child. Registrations can be made directly through the planetarium administration, by phone on 05361 / 89025510 or by email to info@planetarium-wolfsburg.de. Further information can also be found on the planetarium website.
A look outside the box
The Wolfsburg Planetarium is not just a place for children to explore space in a playful way. It is part of a larger network of educational institutions dedicated to astronomy. For example, the Planetarium Berlin offers interdisciplinary content adapted to the general curriculum that turns learning into a cosmic experience through the use of digital planetarium projection and live moderation. Here, students of all ages can not only look at the stars, but also actively participate in lessons and stimulate their interest in science.
Overall, it shows that the Wolfsburg Planetarium offers the perfect platform to introduce young people to the topic of astronomy. The new workshop offering is a highlight because it not only promotes knowledge, but also awakens the joy of discovery. An exciting adventure awaits all little astronauts!
