On Thursday morning there was a massive traffic accident on Dürener Straße that injured two people. Around 10:20 a.m., a 59-year-old Düren lost control of his vehicle while driving towards Nörvenich. Suddenly he got on the opposite lane and collided head-on with an oncoming car, dangers from a 32-year-old Dürener.

First indications indicate possible alcohol consumption of the older driver, which is why a blood sample was arranged. The results are still pending, but the accident was serious enough to use a specialized team from the Aachen police for accident recording.
