On Monday, May 5, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on the Knieperdamm, near a supermarket. A 24-year-old pedestrian was hit by a white car while crossing the street, which then continued towards the old town. The pedestrian had apparently neglected the view to the left and right. He suffered serious but not life -threatening injuries and was immediately taken to a hospital.

The Stralsund police are now looking for witnesses to the incident. People who can offer information are asked to report on the number 03831 28900 or via the police station.
