Frankfurt celebrates Newroz: 50,000 people bring traffic to a standstill!

Rebstockgelände, 60326 Frankfurt am Main, Deutschland - In the Frankfurt city area there was a real crowd today! Around 50,000 people celebrated the Kurdish New Year "Newroz" on the vine grounds. The event attracted so many visitors that the Autobahn 648 had to be closed at times to get the overload under control. Initial traffic disruptions and parking violations even led to towing campaigns in the area. Particularly dramatic: a rear -end collision at the northwest cross with three vehicles involved, in which two people were seriously but not life -threatening.

In addition to the New Year, there was also a peaceful elevator on the subject of Middle East conflict, which started at the Kaisertor at 2:30 p.m. With around 500 participants, the train was trouble -free and ended around 4:00 p.m. near the exhibition tower. Despite the great crowds and traffic problems, the situation remained calm.
