On April 25, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred at 8:00 p.m. on the BAB65 in the direction of Karlsruhe, just a few meters from the Neustadt Süd junction. During an overtaking maneuver, the tire of the person who caused the accident burst, which led to losing control of his vehicle. As a result, he collided with another car, which overturned his car.

Both accident participants were immediately taken to nearby hospitals in order to be examined by a doctor. The road towards Karlsruhe was completely closed from the Neustadt-Nord junction to enable the accident recording. Details on the injuries of those affected are currently still unclear.
