New electrical loading park in Landau: Transport turnaround now starts!

On January 31, 2025, a new quick charging park was opened in Landau in the Palatinate, which is operated by the Pfalzwerke AG . The opening took place in the presence of Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing. This location is part of the ambitious Germany network, which was initiated by the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV).

The Germany network aims to create 9,000 additional quick load points at over 1,000 locations in Germany in the coming years. The financing volume for this comprehensive program amounts to around 2.3 billion euros. Due to the extensive expansion of the charging infrastructure, electromobility in Germany should be significantly promoted.

Details on the new quick charging park

The new loading park in Landau includes four quick charging stations with a total of eight charging points. Each of these columns has a charging power of at least 200 kilowatts (KW). It should be emphasized that the loading points are accessible to accessible, which makes use of all people easier.

Palatinate plans to build up around 400 loading points at 40 different locations in the next few years. The Landau location is one of two Germany network locations currently in operation, the other is in Schotten, Hessen. Other locations are already under construction, including in Buchen, Baesweiler and Göppingen, while the construction start for eight other locations is already planned in the first half of 2025.

coordination and support

The implementation of the Germany network is coordinated by the national control center charging infrastructure, which takes care of the planning planning, technical requirements and data monitoring. CEO Dagmar Errors from Palatinate emphasized the need for a quick expansion of the charging infrastructure to cover the growing demand for charging options for electric vehicles.

The BMDV not only promotes the expansion of fast charging infrastructure, but also supports municipalities, public institutions and companies in building charging points. Over 20,000 publicly accessible charging points have been put into operation since 2017, and a good 35,000 more will be expected by the end of 2024. The federal government has already taken around 1.9 billion euros in hand to promote electromobility and at the same time support the use of climate -neutral drives.

For companies and private households, there are specific support programs that are intended to facilitate the structure of charging infrastructure. This also includes private wall boxes, of which over 700,000 were installed by the BMDV programs. The aim of these initiatives is to create a comprehensively functioning charging infrastructure that is easy to reach for all users.
