Digital customs: Dr. Jörg Ochs leads the future of Nuremberg's customs administration!

In a solemn event on May 20, 2025 in Bonn, Dr. Jörg Ochs appointed the new management president of the Directorate VI - Digitales of the General Customs Directorate. Marianne Kothé, head of department at the Federal Ministry of Finance, carried out the inauguration, while numerous guests, including the President of the General Customs Directorate, Dr. Armin Rolfink, were present.

dr. OCHS has extensive experience, including as a former managing director and head of IT security at Stadtwerke München GmbH. With his appointment, the digitization of customs administration is to be promoted, in particular through innovative IT projects in the field of artificial intelligence. The aim of the Digital Directorate, which has existed since January 2024, aims to optimize all customs -relevant processes and to establish a fully networked customs system. Dr. OCHS will strategically guide the digital transformation and accelerate the implementation. After the inauguration, a management meeting of all customs authorities took place in the headquarters of the General Customs Directorate.
