Unknown cigarette machines in Herzogenrath - police investigate!

In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, on January 30, 2025, unknown perpetrators tried to blow up a cigarette machine on Bardenberger Strasse in Herzogenrath. An attentive resident heard a loud bang around 01:00 and saw smoke ascending, whereupon he immediately informed the police.

The investigation showed that the machine was deformed by the explosion but not opened. A witness reported two black -clad people who ran fleetingly through the alley between "on the Ruifer Weiden" and "Ruifer Benden". Despite an immediately initiated search, the perpetrators remained undetected. The Aachen police have started the investigation and is looking for further witnesses or information on this incident.
