Works of art of small talents: vernissage in the Düppelstraße daycare center!
Around 40 creative minds aged three to five years from the Düppelstraße city daycare center will present their exciting works of art in an exhibition entitled "The most beautiful colors of the world" from March 28 to April 25, 2025. This initiative is a sign of the importance of cultural education in early childhood development.
The vernissage will take place on Friday, March 28th, between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the Depot, Talstraße 2. There will be a special highlight for the little artists: a "color song" and a dance that honors the longest work of art that was created as part of the project. Visitors have the opportunity to experience a slide show that documents the process of creation of the works of art shown.
guided tours and opening times
The daycare teachers, supported by the artists Justina Jablonska, Ana Sous and Maren, offer guided tours during the term of the exhibition. These tours enable even deeper insights into the creative processes of the children and to learn more about the individual works of art.
The exhibition can be seen on weekdays during the opening hours of the depot from March 31 to April 25th. The regular opening times are from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
cultural education in the daycare
The importance of such projects is underlined by initiatives by the Ministry of Culture and Science. The ministry has launched the call for funding "Artists in the daycare center" in order to strengthen cultural education in day care centers. The focus here is on the support of artistic-cultural projects that arise in cooperation with free artists or cultural institutions.
In 2022, the focus was on financing model projects in family centers and plus daycare centers to provide children with creative offers and offer them artistic accompaniment. This should contribute to the structural anchorage of cultural education in daycare centers and promote the development of children.
interested institutions can apply for the funding projects without deadline, which is a valuable offer, especially during the SARS-COV-2 pandemic. These applications are possible at any time and should be able to be implemented from spring or summer 2022. Further details on application documents can be found on the website of the ministry.
In this context, the exhibition of the Düppelstraße daycare center is not only a platform for the artistic expressiveness of the small ones, but also an example of the successful use of funding initiatives to promote cultural education in early childhood. Finally, the integration of art into the everyday life of children is an important step in their development. For more information about cultural education in daycare centers, interested parties can visit the pages of the children's skills center or that of the Ministry of Culture and Science: kinderkuenstentrum.de and kita.nrw.de .
