Niklas Castelle: Change to Alemannia Aachen or does he stay in Ulm?
Niklas Castelle dared to jump to SSV Ulm in the Bundesliga in the summer of 2024 after he was previously active at FC Schalke 04. The 21-year-old center forward, who switched from VfL Senden from Schalke from VfL Senden in January 2022, has only received a limited season in Ulm. In four short operations, he comes to 22 minutes without scoring.
The move to SSV Ulm was a new beginning for Castelle, but the results so far were not satisfactory for the striker. According to ruHR24.de shows a third division team from North Rhine-Westphalia, interest in Castelle. A possible lending business is currently being considered, since Aachen is urgently looking for a new striker.
Castelle's career and current situation
Before moving to SSV Ulm, Castelle had been active at Schalke since 2022, where he scored 16 goals in 63 regional league games and celebrated his professional debut against Hamburger SV on January 20, 2024. In this second division mission, he only came to 6 minutes. As already mentioned, he has had little influence on the game in Ulm in the current season.
Those responsible at Alemannia Aachen also seem to have a look at Dominik Martinovic, who is currently playing for Slaven Belupo in Croatia and achieved 42 goals and 27 templates in 141 third division games. This shows that Aachen is looking for further options, a loan business with Castelle should not come about.
SSV Ulm presented Castelle as the sixth newcomer for the coming season and he signed a contract until 2027. SSV managing director Markus Thiele expressed a positive statement about Castelle's development potential and hopes that the player can soon get back into team training after he is in rehab after an injury. Castelle himself is optimistic and is looking forward to accepting the challenges in the 2nd Bundesliga, like Transfermarkt.de reported.
