Customs investigation strikes: massive cigarette factory discovered in Düsseldorf!

In the early morning hours of today, customs investigators in Düsseldorf have excavated a huge, presumably illegal cigarette production facility. A total of 12 people were temporarily arrested in the raid. The searches of the objects extend to 14 locations in North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony.

Under the direction of the Essen customs investigation office, several customs authorities work together, including the main customs offices from Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Dortmund, Krefeld, Cologne and Aachen as well as the customs search offices from Hanover and Frankfurt am Main. In addition, special forces of the federal police and the technical relief organization support the extensive operation. The investigation could have massive consequences for those involved.
