Traffic chaos in Cologne: Drunk drivers cause spectacular accidents!

On May Day, the Cologne police kept the citizens in suspense with several spectacular traffic accidents and dangerous situations. Numerous drivers were intoxicated or without a valid driving license. A 29-year-old Audi driver raced through Königswinter at 120 km/h, ignored the police stops and finally collided with a patrol car. He and his three passengers, including a slightly injured passenger, were arrested. The driver is suspected of having consumed drugs.

Another incident occurred on the A4, where a 48-year-old VW golf driver, heavily drunk, rose to a VW Polo and injured three female occupants. He also had no driver's license and resisted the police. A 43-year-old motorhome driver was pulled out of circulation with over 1.8 per thousand, while a 29-year-old driver raced through a construction site with over 180 km/h and crashed seriously. In another accident in the early morning, a 37-year-old, also alcoholic, was thrown into a car transporter and left a rubble field on the road that caused hours of traffic disruptions.
