Carnival under control: Police ensure security in Bergisch Gladbach!

On Carnival Cam Day, March 1, the law enforcement officers in the Rheinisch-Bergischer district region accompanied several carnival trains, including those in Bensberg, Refrath, Kürten, Leichlingen and Overath-Marialinden. Despite the high number of visitors - around 35,000 in Bensberg and 30,000 in Leichlingen - most events were largely peaceful. In Bensberg, the emergency services took care of potential interferers preventively, which prevents larger incidents. An attempted mobile on mobility and some references were the only noteworthy incidents.

In Kürten and Leichlingen, low assault offenses were displayed, but no serious crimes were recorded. In Overath-Marialinden, where around 5,000 spectators were present, it even remained completely quiet. Only in Odenthal-Voiswinkel there were two ads, including because of a sexual offense in which a 17-year-old was temporarily arrested. Overall, the police presence had an effect and ensured a predominantly trouble -free course of the carnival celebrations.
