Border controls in Emmerich: Two arrests thanks to arrest warrants!

Emmerich, Deutschland - On February 25, 2025, the federal police carried out border controls on Autobahn 3 near Emmerich-Teln and found two sought-after men. A 27-year-old Guineer who came with a bus from the Netherlands was identified because there is an arrest warrant from the Essen office against him. He had previously been sentenced to a fine of 900 euros and a replacement sentence of 30 days for a violation of the compulsory insurance law. Since he could not pay the fine, he was brought to the correctional facility.

In addition, a 26-year-old Romanian was checked, which also came from the Netherlands. He was also sought by the Bochum public prosecutor and had received a previous conviction for theft of 600 euros. The latter was able to pay the fine directly from the federal police and thus escaped the replacement imprisonment of 30 days. The controls show that the federal police consistently act against crime at the border.
