Recklinghausen, Deutschland - The police in Recklinghausen used an investigative commission after a series of robberies on supermarkets and discounters have flared up again. The stranger, who has been inactive since May 2024, has struck again in the past few weeks. In the meantime, 54 raids have been bundled, which extend over the districts of Recklinghausen, Wesel, Borken, Coesfeld as well as cities such as Bottrop, Bochum and Gelsenkirchen.

Despite extensive search measures, including the use of mantrailer dogs and an increased police presence, the perpetrator remains unknown. The police describe the suspect as male, about 30 to 40 years old, slim and between 1.80 and 1.85 meters tall. He wears a black jacket, blue jeans or black rain pants and a black storm hood. In order to receive clues, the Essen public prosecutor's office has suspended a reward of up to 4,000 euros. Witnesses are asked to report on the specified telephone number or by email. The current raids will also be discussed tonight in the ZDF program "File number XY ... unresolved".
