The process for corruption at the Marien Hospital Euskirchen has attracted intensive media attention in the past few days. The judgments result in a total damage to the foundation of over five million euros, after the originally mentioned of around seven million euros. The period of illegal business extended from 2018 when orders were awarded to the construction company. The judge pointed out that the foundation would probably remain on the damage, which could continue to burden the financial situation of the hospital, such as the Rundschau Online explained.

The public prosecutor's office Bonn and the accused have applied for a revision until Maundy Thursday, which must be submitted on time. The revision proceedings at the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) check whether the judgment may be revised due to violations of formal or material law. The Foundation's Board of Directors is currently preparing for the further steps, while the innocent presumption of the accused continues to apply until the revision procedure is finally completed.

The complete reasoning remains to be seen, the completion of which can take weeks. The outcome of the revision procedure could take up to two years, and the uncertainty about the finalism of the judgments will remain.
