Open day: Discover the Waldorf education in Hanau!

On March 7, 2025, Hanau remains shaped by current events. The Free Waldorf School Hanau receives special attention, which organizes its open house on March 15 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors can gain deeper insights into Waldorf education, take part in trial lessons and take tours through the school. The physical well -being is taken care of with coffee and cake, which makes the day an informative and sociable experience. The Waldorf School, which originated in Stuttgart in 1919, sets itself the goal of promoting human skills in thinking, feeling and wanting. School lessons aim to develop the creative forces of the students and to offer them comprehensive education that not only attaches importance to cognitive but also on social skills.

As the Waldorf School Hanau represents in its pedagogical philosophy, lessons are not conducted according to traditional standards. Instead, self -designed epoch books replace classic textbooks and enable a deeper examination of the learning content. These methods are based on the conviction that pupils in stable class communities can learn and grow together in 13 school years.

The city will also remain in the focus from March 7th due to a full closure in the city center. Marienkirchgasse will be completely blocked for crane work by March 14, which could influence the flow of traffic.

In addition, the city provides information about the new home phone, which should offer citizens more security if they are traveling alone in the evening or at night. For questions in the area of pension and social affairs, a service point is available to the citizens that enables calls to make an appointment.

Farewell to the market master

In an emotional farewell, the city also said goodbye to Victor Crichton, who will retire after 23 years as a market champion. He was recognized for his commitment and connection with the Hanau weekly market, an institution that significantly shapes social life in Hanau.
