New Year's Eve in Bottrop: fire brigade and rescue workers in constant use!

On New Year's Eve of January 1, 2025, a kitchen fire was reported on Zeppelinstrasse in Bottrop around 10:45 a.m. According to reports, a triple socket had caught fire. An attentive neighbor was able to prevent worse things with a bucket of water and extinguish the fire before the fire brigade arrived. The fire brigade only had to carry out ventilation measures so that the tenant could quickly return to her apartment. The fire truck of the professional fire brigade and the Stadtmitte volunteer fire brigade were deployed.

Later in the evening, around 8:50 p.m., a burning hedge was reported in Döckelhorst street, which was also deleted before the emergency services arrived. From 0:30 a.m., the fire brigade reported several garbage can and hedge fires in the city area, all of which could be deleted with little effort. In one case, an underfloor container had to be opened by force to extinguish the fire. Voluntary forces of the volunteer fire brigades old town, Boy and Fuhlenbrock were on standby.

The emergency services recorded a typical year without special events. As reported, excessive alcohol consumption and drugs were common causes of missions.
