Trump urges Hamas: hostages must be released immediately!
On March 6, 2025, the USA will be in direct conversation with the terrorist organization Hamas to negotiate the release of US geiseln. This is a precedible step because Hamas is classified by the USA as a terrorist group. In this context, US President Donald Trump has expressed significant threats. He warned Hamas that all hostages and the corpses of killed Israelis will be released immediately if they do not cooperate. Trump emphasized that no member of Hamas would be safe if the negotiations fail, and was also aimed at the population in the Gaza strip to demand the release of hostages.
The US government has officially confirmed the talks in which the US envoy for hostages, Adam Boehler, speaks to Hamas representatives. These negotiations take place in close coordination with Israel, whose opinion was expressed on the talks. Karoline Leavitt, the Press spokeswoman of the White House, made it clear that American life is at stake and the continuation of this conversations is of extreme importance.
Situation of the hostages
In the Gaza Strip, Hamas holds a total of 58 hostages. Of these, 34 have already been declared dead by the Israeli army. There are currently five US geisels in Hamas' violence, four of which are dead and only one is alive. A Hamas official confirmed that there were several contacts with American communication channels to discuss the hostages. In addition, two direct meetings between American and Hamas officials were already taking place in Doha.
The negotiations are complex and are accompanied by a certain optimism, especially in Israel, where the discussions about a possible deal of hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza increase. However, previous reports on progress in these negotiations are often based on optimistic statements from the negotiators in Doha and sometimes ended in a decay of the consensus. Both sides then often blame.
context of the negotiations
Since the Hamas massacre on October 7, 2022, which has been the longest war since Israel was founded, 15 months have passed. The current situation shows how tense and complicated the conditions in the Middle East are. The ongoing negotiations not only mean a step towards peace, but could also represent a turning point in the very tense relationship between the USA, Israel and Hamas.
The situation remains tense, and while negotiations are progressing, it is unclear whether the efforts to make a permanent solution will be more successful this time. The upcoming political decisions and negotiations are still being observed closely, both regionally and internationally.
