Theme weeks against study doubles: Support for students in NRW!

The theme weeks "Study Dailor" start from March 10th to 28th, 2025 in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). This initiative organized by around 30 universities aims to support students with learning difficulties and motivation problems. The University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) is particularly active in this context, funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. The event takes place in its sixth edition and includes a broad program with 40 predominantly digital formats.

The program includes lectures, workshops and consulting consultations that focus on central topics. This includes the reflection of the current study situation, the development of personal skills and learning techniques. Questions about the change of technical and university or educational paths outside the university are also dealt with. The online start will take place on March 10th and offers an overview of the events and experience reports from those affected who describe their challenges and solutions.

On March 13, 2025, for example, an online workshop entitled "Successful study professionally" will take place in cooperation with the Essen employment agency. On March 19, 2025, the workshop "Overcoming Trials - Effective Techniques for Study Success" follows. These workshops are only part of the comprehensive support measures that are also offered beyond the topic weeks. Many universities in North Rhine -Westphalia, including the UDE, offer consultation hours for students who have doubts about their course of study or at the studies.

According to the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences, doubts about the course are widespread. These can occur if studying is different than expected or students lose connection. Advice can help clarify these situations and develop new perspectives.
