Shocking traffic accident in Düren: two injuries in the event of a collision!

On Monday afternoon, April 14, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred at the intersection B56/Stockheimer Landstrasse in Düren. A 62-year-old driver from Fulda wanted to turn left after he first had to stop at a red traffic light. But when starting, he was mistakenly based on the green traffic lights that were valid for straight away traffic, which led to a crash with the oncoming vehicle of a 52-year-old who had a 17-year-old passenger.

Both occupants of the Düren vehicle suffered minor injuries. The teenager had to be taken to the hospital for further treatment, while the 52-year-old was released on site after outpatient care. The accident led to considerable damage to property and once again raises the question of traffic safety at this problematic intersection.
