Drug find at Duisburg Central Station: Man with 16,000 euros

On Wednesday morning, May 14, 2025, a 49-year-old man was checked by the federal police at Duisburg Central Station. During the search, the officials came across a considerable amount of drugs, numerous prescription medication and cash in various currencies: 16,264 euros, $ 1,050, 615,000 Lebanese Lira and 15 Turkish lira. These finds increased the suspicion of illegal trade in narcotics.

The control took place around 9 a.m. in the person tunnel, where the police also secured a multitool with a knife. When asked about other dangerous objects, the man confirmed that he would carry them with him. Due to the risk of darkening, he was temporarily arrested and transferred to the crime guard of the Duisburg police headquarters.
