Serious accident in Emmerich: Cyclist after collision seriously injured

On Saturday morning, March 22, 2025, a serious accident occurred in Emmerich. A 37-year-old driver, who was traveling on the street behind the Kapaunenberg with her Mercedes Viano, collided with a 61-year-old cyclist while turning into the crossing area. This was on the bike path of Speelberger Straße in the direction of Normannstrasse and had already mostly passed the intersection.

The impact hit the rear wheel of the bike, which led to a dramatic fall of the elderly lady. She contracted serious injuries and had to be brought to a clinic by an ambulance. The driver was not injured. The investigation into the exact cause of the accident is underway.
