Filmemacher Radio Euskirchen reports that Guy Ritchie will take over the direction for the continuation of the action film "Road House". This remake of classic film from 1989 is a project by Amazon MGM Studios. Jake Gyllenhaal will again play the main role of the Dalton, a former UFC fighter.

The event of this project is an exciting step for Gyllenhaal, which was seen in 2024 in the remake of "Road House". In the new plot, Dalton is set to the Florida Keys as the bouncer of a pub and has to deal with brutal Rowdies, among which the UFC fighter Conor McGregor is also a knox. The film is a continuation of the previous success and will be available from the streaming provider Prime Video.

Details on production and action

The screenplay for the sequel is written by Will Beall, while the production of Charles Roven and Alex Gartner by Atlas Entertainment as well as Gyllenhaal and Josh McLaughlin is led by Nine Stories Productions. Ivan Atkinson will act as an executive producer. At the moment, no concrete details on the action of the continuation are known, although the first part was published on Prime Video in March 2024 and almost 80 million viewers worldwide.

This upcoming cooperation between Ritchie and Gyllenhaal is not new. It is already the third project of the two after they have previously realized "Guy Ritchie’s the Pact" and the soon to be published "in the gray". This synergy between director and actor increases the anticipation for upcoming production.

The review of the original

The original "Road House" is known for Patrick Swayze's performance in the leading role, where he as a dalton leaves a world full of lawlessness and dangers. The reinterpretation of Ritchie's film is of great interest because it is located in a similar environment and addresses the challenges of a bouncer.
