News from the Heinsberg immigration office: Changes from May 1, 2025!

The background to this measure is the frequent criticisms of the existing processes, such as long waiting times, poor accessibility and complicated appointment. The new opening times of the immigration office are designed as follows:

• Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 8.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
• Thursday: 8.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Wednesday: closed

• Mondays and Tuesdays: 9 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

New requirements for photographs

Another significant innovation concerns the requirements for the photographs for the application for sovereign documents. From May 1, 2025, only digital photographs are permitted. These can be recorded in the immigration office for a fee of 6.00 euros or are created by approved private photo service providers. Paper -shaped photographs are no longer accepted.
