Road construction and new bridge: Medebach invests in the future!

From the end of January 2025, extensive road construction work begins in Medebach, which affect both the Südwall, Mauritiusstraße and Schützenstraße. The construction company Knoche is responsible for the measures that should be completed by the end of 2025. Comprehensive work on the base of the street and the supply and disposal lines, including electricity, gas, water and sewage system, are particularly planned. Sauerlandkurier.de reports that the demonstration of the asphalt ceilings and the connection of the sewage system on Hallenberger Strasse reports the first steps Will represent construction measures.

After the milling work, Hallenberger Straße is fully blocked for about two weeks. Depirtions are set up, whereby resident traffic is carried out via Schützenstrasse. However, temporary impairments for property access are expected. However, the St. Mauritius Hospital senior citizens' facility remains accessible via the street "Auf der Hagen". For cars, a diversion route via "Am Rattershaus, Schützenstraße, Savoyenstrasse" is recommended. Heaving traffic and local public transport (except school traffic) are diverted in a large scale, which means that the “Hallenberger Straße” bus stop cannot be temporarily operated. A replacement stop will be set up on Mündener Strasse.

Details about the construction phases

Road construction is divided into two main sections. The first section includes Südwall and Mauritiusstraße, where the completion is sought until late summer 2025. In the second section, which affects Schützenstraße, a full closure from the branch "Auf der Hagen" to the intersection of Südwall/Savoyenstrasse will be necessary from mid -2025. The participation of the shooting street in the traffic flow remains temporarily possible for residents, but here too restrictions are coordinated. The completion is planned for the end of 2025, and for Schützenstraße, the approachability of the St. Mauritius Hospital senior citizens' facility is also ensured via Mauritiusstraße.

The weather and other unforeseen disorders can result in delays during the construction period, which limits the tight planning of the measures. Changes in the process or time frame are not excluded.

replacement of the bridge over the orke

In parallel to the road construction work, the plans for the replacement of the bridge over the EDER inflow "Orke" in Medebach-Medelon have already been completed. This bridge, which dates from 1880, has considerable damage and is demolished in the summer of 2024. Construction for the new reinforced concrete bridge without the center pillar is scheduled to begin on August 1, 2024. First, however, electricity and gas lines have to be folded down, which starts in April 2024. Strasse.nrw.de has assured that the L617 is fully closed in this section during the demolition work. A detour for vehicle traffic is carried out via the K56 Dreilar, while truck traffic is redirected.

The investments for both construction projects amount to a total of around 830,000 euros and are carried out by the streets. The expected conclusion of the replacement new building of the bridge is planned at the end of November 2024. The new bridge is a vaulted construction that enables an improved flow cross -section through the elimination of the center pillar. Strasse.nrw.de emphasizes that in addition to the implementation of the cables, the construction of the new building and the superstructure of the new building also emphasizes comprises.
