Five new white crosses: Students set signs for victim protection in Kleve

On Thursday, April 10, 2025, the Geldern vocational college ceremoniously handed over five new “white crosses” to the Kleve district police authority. These crosses are part of a project that has been launched since 2003 to remind you of accident victims in road traffic and to remind all road users as caution. The pupils made the large wooden crosses in their carpentry with a lot of dedication and under the guidance of workshop manager Klaus Hosserated.

The new "White Crosses" will be set up at two accident sites in Uedem this week, supported by the Technical Aid Agency (THW). In addition to the victim protection officer KHK Joachim Verhoeven and PhK Manfred Derks, the deputy headmaster Mr. Wenz were also present. "These crosses are an important symbol to draw attention to tragic fates and to be preventive," emphasized Verhoeven. The school project combines practical learning with social commitment and thus promotes awareness of the consequences of traffic accidents.
